About

Murry Salby is an atmospheric scientist and climate skeptic who has twice left academic posts due to scandal:

  • mid 1980s: University of Colorado Boulder
    • 2005: The NSF investigated him and found that he had displayed "a pattern of deception [and] a lack of integrity" in his handling of federal grant money.
    • 2008: Salby voluntarily resigned from UCB.
  • 2008: became professor of climate risk at Macquarie University
    • 2013: dismissed by the university on grounds of refusal to teach and misuse of university resources.

Claims

Salby's primary point of contention with the global warming consensus is that recent sharp rises in CO2 are due to natural causes, a common AGW denialist claim; Salby's arguments are specifically answered here.
