Just link, or transwiki

I suggest that pages such as this, with biographical information or quotes, should simply link Wikipedia and Wikiquotes, as appropriate (unless it's someone who doesn't qualify for a page on those sites). It's unwise to try and duplicate such pages here.

For how to best do it, consider this notice box at Appropedia, and this one. Feel free to adapt those templates. --Chriswaterguy 19:58, 6 February 2007 (EST)

In general, yes...

This page is in need of updating. This section represents a policy statement which should go in a "project:" page somewhere. We should also document the use of "standard" references (wpedia, cpedia, dkos, sourcewatch) and list others that have been relevant in some cases (htyp, appropedia, rationalwiki...).

In general, pages here which match existing Wikipedia pages start with the following format:

  1. A brief summary – typically briefer than that on wp, and often emphasizing particular issues or values related to the page's subject
  2. Links to any reference material on the same subject, typically starting with wikipedia (there is a template specifically for this purpose: {{wikipedia:name of page}} shows just "Wikipedia", with a link to the appropriate article; "wikipedia:" is also an interwiki link -- see Special:Interwiki for a complete list, and feel free to make suggestions in the Issuepedia:Commons area)
  3. A "Related Pages" section
  4. Opinions, quotes, brief bits of discussion -- anything which advances our understanding of what people think on the subject, whether or not "what people think" is accurate or justifiable (if anyone thinks its inaccurate or unjustified, then rebuttals can be posted, possibly leading to a longer discussion on a separate page)
  5. Collections of relevant links, including significant news items

As it happened, I couldn't find any other definitive sources (including Wikipedia) for Lars-Erik; maybe there are some by now.

(Now that I've typed up this description, I should post it in a more general location...)
