John Dean (1938-) was White House Counsel to United States President Richard Nixon from July 1970 until April 1973, and as such became deeply involved in the events of the Watergate scandal [W] and subsequent cover-up.

He is more recently the author of books attacking the Bush II administration and the greater political machinery behind it.
