About
Three American Muslims were shot dead at 5:11 PM on February 10, 2015 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The victims were:[1]
- Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, of Chapel Hill
- Yusor Abu-Salha, 21, of Chapel Hill – Deah's wife
- Razan Abu-Salha, 19, of Raleigh – Yusor's sister
Deah apparently worked as a volunteer in Durham distributing supplies to the homeless.[2]
Craig Stephen Hicks has been arrested and charged with the three murders. Hicks had reportedly posted anti-religious statements and images on his Facebook account.[3][4]
There has been, naturally, some backlash against atheists.[5]

- Suspect in Chapel Hill killings described as troublemaker, obsessed with parking "Craig Stephen Hicks was feared by his neighbors. He obsessed over parking spaces and always appeared angry. He used to watch a movie about a man who goes on a shooting rampage over and over again. His ex-wife said he found the film hilarious."
