Americans Elect, sometimes shown as Americans Elect 2012, is an organization that stated an intention to form a political party (the Americans Elect Party) and nominate a candidate for president in the 2012 election based on the outcome of an internet caucus to be held on their web site. According to Wikipedia, "Although it was successful in obtaining signatures to get on the ballot in a majority of states, the process set up by the organization did not select a candidate."
As of late 2014, they have apparently been "succeeded" by a new organization called Level the Playing Field.
