The argument from subjectivity is a form of dismissive statement in which it is claimed that an issue cannot be resolved by rational debate because it is a matter of opinion, despite the existence of objective arguments supporting or opposing particular positions regarding that issue.

It is certainly true that some issues are a matter of taste, e.g. whether one song or painting is "better" than another, but this is generally only true with issues that are purely of an aesthetic nature.
