This page is a seed article. You can help Issuepedia water it: make a request to expand a given page and/or donate to help give us more writing-hours!

A Concept is an abstract idea ("an abstract or generic idea generalized from particular instances" - m-w.com). Concept pages should be created within Issuepedia when the subject matter is:

  1. important in order to understand reasoned arguments on particular subjects addressed within Issuepedia, and
  2. not clearly addressed elsewhere (often there is a good explanation of a particular concept on another web site, but it is buried within a longer explanation about something related)

Concept pages should also be created when a particular concept becomes important in several discussions and it becomes useful to have

  1. a collection point for related information, or
  2. an internal link, which can be depended on to exist, instead of continuing to rely on an external page

Concept writings are one of the main Issuepedia Article Types, and their existence as a reference is part of Issuepedia's analytical toolkit.
