Evil, in the moral sense of the word, is officially defined as "intending harm", "morally reprehensible", or "causing harm" [1].

We will tentatively define it as "doing bad things deliberately". This leaves it somewhat ambiguous in situations where bad things are done in the hope of achieving a good end (especially if the good end is, in fact, achieved); hopefully the proper usage will become clearer as examples come to light.
