About

A living income (or basic income) is an income that is sufficient to live on, given a set of reasonable assumptions and circumstances. The exact income amount which would satisfy these conditions will vary significantly depending on what the conditions are, but it is generally assumed that the income would be at least enough to provide for the following:

  • adequate nourishment (food)
  • clothing
  • shelter (a home)

Medical care is also often (though not always) included in the set of basic requirements.
