About

A supply or consumable is something that is needed in order for some process to proceed.

Examples

Examples of supplies include: food (necessary for people to live), lumber (needed to build/repair houses, buildings, etc.), minerals (ingredients in manufactured items, fertilizer, food supplements, etc.), water.

Related

The ratio of a supply to demand for that supply typically determines price in a free market; this is known as the law of supply and demand.
