Summary

Climate change, a.k.a. global warming (GW), is real and it's primary caused by human industrial activity (AGW), and we need to cut back our net carbon emissions as quickly as possible in order to minimize the damage.

  • /solutions - specific proposals on how to go about this

Debate

While there may appear in the mainstream media to be a substantial debate about whether AGW is happening or not, the science appears to be quite definite on the subject -- and those who argue otherwise exhibit patterns of denialism, i.e. presenting long-refuted arguments as if they remained unanswered.

Implications

I do not think that accomplishing this will require most of us to endure any substantial reduction in the quality of our lifestyles. Electric cars, for instance, are every bit as pleasant to drive as gasoline-powered cars, and considerably quieter (not to mention better to breathe around).
