Overview

Waterboarding is a form of torture. There is reason to believe it is currently in use by the Bush II administration in that it has been alleged, they have not denied it, and vice president Dick Cheney has apparently endorsed it.

The US Department of Defense revised their official field manual on 2006-09-06 to prohibit waterboarding by U.S. military personnel. This does not affect usage by the CIA, however.
