About
A worldview is a style or manner of thinking about reality. A single worldview may include multiple ideologies.
Delineation
- Subsets:
- ideologies: particular organized sets of beliefs about reality
- religion: any of a large number of mystically-oriented ideologies

- science: a particular ideology which values observation and rational analysis
- postmodernism: a quasi-ideology which asserts that reality is a social construct

- control-based thinking: the view that public perception is the only reality that matters
- faith-based thinking: reality is what the interpreters of scripture say it is
- moralism, aka morality-based thinking: good and evil are defined as adherence to or departure from a predetermined set of rules
- Straussianism: argues for "wise rulers" to conceal information and manipulate public perception in order to gain popular support for their actions
- empirical: worldviews primarily valuing observation and analysis, aka reality-based thinking
