Page History

This page was originally set up in 2007 for the purpose of "weighing the relative costs and benefits of atheism and religion, and for analysis of discussions between atheists and religionists". Since then, it has become apparent that this attempt to rationally weigh the relative merits of the two worldviews is not really compatible with the dispute.

Where religion claims incompatibility with atheism, its apologists heavily favor fallacious arguments (typically using strongly-worded rhetorical deceptions of various sorts) rather than attempting to make accurate fact-based arguments in defense of religion.

Given that, it seems that the best use of this page is in documenting religion-based criticisms of atheism and responding to them.
