Counter-scientific theory

A counter-scientific theory is any theory which contradicts the prevailing scientific views without providing any substantial supporting evidence in its own favor.

Such theories include:

• direct creation theories
  • creationism
• young Earth theories
• geocentrism
• flat Earth: very few if any followers anymore
• religion-based theories, i.e. theories which introduce scientific evidence or arguments only in support of religious doctrine
