About

Atheist dogma (or atheist fundamentalism) is an anti-atheism troll phrase which attempts to discredit atheism by implying that it is no less rigid than any other ideology.

Since the only core assertion of atheism is that dogma is subject to the same standards of evidence as any other set of beliefs, the implication that atheism is itself dogmatic is either:

  • an oxymoron (because atheism is definitionally the opposite of dogmatism), or
  • unfalsifiable because the definition of "dogmatic" must be stretched to include the idea of rejecting dogmatism, meaning that there are no belief-sets which could not be classified as "dogmatic".
