About
Whole Foods Market is a publicly-traded corporation whose business is a grocery store chain emphasizing "natural and organic products".
They have been ranked among the most socially responsible businesses and placed fourth on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's list of Top 25 Green Power Partners. Despite this, the company has advocated a number of causes which seem to run counter to the ideas of sustainability and public benefit, including:
- advocating against laws requiring labeling of GMO foods
- advocating against Obamacare and in favor of private, employment-based health insurance
