Overview
The incantatory mindset is, in effect, a belief (often unconscious) that patterns of words possess a power which is independent of any reality they describe, and that this power indeed overshadows any power which might be achieved by manipulating objects in the real world. In other words, the greatest power is achieved through use of the right incantations.
