About

Whole Foods Market is a publicly-traded corporation whose business is a grocery store chain emphasizing "natural and organic products".

They have been ranked among the most socially responsible businesses[2] and placed fourth on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's list of Top 25 Green Power Partners. Despite this, the company has advocated a number of causes which seem to run counter to the ideas of sustainability and public benefit, including:

  • advocating against laws requiring labeling of GMO foods
  • advocating against Obamacare and in favor of private, employment-based health insurance
