About

This page is for collecting examples of rhetorical distortion in the mainstream media. Such distortions are particularly damaging because many people will accept them as authoritative, and perform no cross-checking. These distortions then enter the mainstream consciousness as "fact" and are reinforced by encountering other people who also accept them as "fact". Blatant and clear errors made by the mainstream media then become just part of what "everyone knows".
