Use the "retaking parties at the primary level" idea for state offices instead of federal -- maybe starting with the smallest state, for practice. Once we have enough states to declare a Constitutional convention, then do so.

I think there's already a sort of movement afoot to do this for some small northeast state by moving enough like-minded people into the state that they will be able to elect their self-chosen third-party/independent candidates to the state senate. (Need to find a source on this...) The problem with that is that they'll still be dependent on the same old corruptable systems, still playing on the enemy's field; we need to build our own systems for governance so we can't be undermined by their bugs and backdoors.

Advantages:

  • Completely legitimate, so easier to convince people to help with it -- and no iffy legal questions once it is done.
  • We might still attract the attention of the power brokers, who might take severe measures to prevent it before we've made any real gains with which to defend ourselves.

Disadvantages: Likely very slow. They are moving quickly right now; I don't think we have time for this strategy.
