Objective morality is the idea of a moral system that is objectively valid. The nature of such a system depends heavily on the scope within which "objectivity" is being evaluated.

It is often argued that in order to be objective, any moral system would have to define rightness and wrongness in terms of acts that are right or wrong for all people to perform in all times under all circumstances. While this sounds like it basically makes objective morality impossible, all it really does as make perfectly objective morality impossible; we can make statements about morality that are almost always globally objective, and improve their level of applicability by including additional conditions or refinements -- in much the same way that we can never exactly know objective truth but can approach ever closer to it through successive approximation.
