The pro-choice viewpoint is the position that a pregnant woman should have at least some window of opportunity in which to decide whether to abort her unborn child.
The exact criteria for determining when she no longer has the right to make that choice vary among individuals holding the pro-choice position, from the beginning of neural development around week 3 (a position barely distinguishable from the pro-life position) almost all the way to full-term (under extreme conditions). Whatever stage of development is considered the cutoff, however, the "pro-choice" position generally makes exceptions for rape, incest, risk to the mother, and severe medical problems in the fetus.
