2008 US domestic troop deployment

Overview

In 2008, several US troops were redeployed for domestic "homeland security" duty, possibly in violation of the posse comitatus act which was rescinded by the 2006 US Military Commissions Act.

The first troops arrived on October 1, and more are planned.
