2020 US Presidential election
|
About
In the 2020 US presidential election, former Obama Vice President Joe Biden won against incumbent Donald Trump.
The results were heavily contested by the losing side, involving multiple lawsuits and investigations running the gamut from legitimate to fraudulent; none of them found any evidence of wrongdoing, but the Trumpist faction of the GOP succeeded in planting a narrative that the election had been stolen. This narrative succeeded in drumming up sufficient outrage among the GOP base as to result in an insurrection attempt on 2021-01-06, and has continued to fuel ongoing efforts towards a civil coup, the extent of which will only be known for certain once the 2022 election results are available.
