Family

About

A family is two or more people who are committed to each other's welfare. Family members typically live together, but sometimes (through necessity) they must live apart to some degree for some length of time. Members of a family are often genetically related to each other for various reasons, but this is not part of the definition.

Controversy

Although many US conservatives often support positions which both claim to be supportive of families and yet exclude certain types of families, they have yet to make an argument that the excluded families are not in fact families.
