Income inequality

Income inequality is usually intended to refer to economic disparity (specifically income disparity, which is the source of most economic disparity), but it somewhat muddies the waters in that people can misunderstand it (accidentally or deliberately) to imply that people who want to reduce economic disparity want everyone to have the same income.
This is not usually the case. The problem is disparity (the size of the gap), not the fact of any inequality at all.
