Issuepedia:Editorials

Editorial pages on Issuepedia take a slightly different approach from most pages. The main substance of an editorial page is an argument intended to be as persuasive as possible on a particular point of view. Any counter-arguments, rebuttals, or related links should be put in a separate section, so that the editorial can easily be taken by itself (e.g. for submission to a newspaper).

Ideally, those who agree with the editorial's position will refine and revise the editorial's argument to take into account the counter-arguments posted below it, until the editorial either collapses under the weight of those counter-arguments or else becomes honed to the point of convincing even those who argued against it.

This is in accordance with Issuepedia's principle of Reinforcement by Contradiction.
