NATIONALISM How a nation of people see themselves

WHEN the North had fought the South in the american civil war the concept of 'is' came into general usage, this country had tended to call itself, are. The United States are. Whereas after the Civil Ware had called it The United States is. This came from the uniting of states, by force of conquest to create a new and united people.

Today this idea--United, to many seems distant, if not lost. Why is that? Do we no longer represent what we did at the end of the Civil War? What changed? Did the people fight this war for nothing? Are the people freer more or less than then?

After this the U.S. fought the Spanish-American War.

The U.S. fought in the first world war, the second world war, Koren War, Undeclared Vietnam War, Afgahistan & Iraq Wars.

Many today feel they are manipulated, or sensored, or gagged, that freedom of speech is being restricted in many places.

One very important policy change that can be done this election year is to bring to the frontline the following idea:

Why don't we feel good about being americans? Is the U.S. being invaded? Do We need to protect our families and personal effects? To be secure in them.
