Claims of hypocrisy by Democratic leaders include:

• Barack Obama's campaign promises to run the most transparent administration in history
• Al Gore having a home that was not very energy-efficient, despite his heavy campaigning for global warming and environmentalism
  • Some of these concerns were exaggerated, and Gore has generally addressed all the valid ones; see Snopes
• Ted Kennedy successfully opposing a wind farm near his property, despite being ostensibly pro-environment
  • The farm was later approved after Kennedy's death, with support from the Democratic establishment.
• Charlie Rangel's tax evasion despite being on the Ways and Means Committee
