Overview
The term Pax Americana refers, generally speaking, to the idea of a global peace moderated in large part by American military and cultural influence. There is much controversy over whether this state of affairs is desirable, especially in the light of recent American behavior (most notably, but not exclusively, the US Invasion of Iraq).
