About
The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) is a constitutional body (i.e. a body defined and mandated by Pakistan's constitution) responsible for giving legal advice on Islamic issues to the Government of Pakistan and the Parliament.
There appears to be some question, however, as to whether its existence continues to be legal, as the constitution assigned it a mission of limited duration which may have been completed. (Details remain unclear as to what the mission was.)
