NATIONALISM

WHEN the North fought the South in the last american civil war this country, after it was over tended to call itself, is. The United States is. Whereas before had called it The United States are. This came from the uniting of states, by force of conquest to create a new and united people.

Today this idea, to many seems distant, if not lost. Why is that? Do we no longer represent what we did at the end of the Civil War? What changed? Did the people fight this war for nothing? Are the people freer more or less than then?

Many today feel they are manipulated, or sensored, or gagged, that freedom of speech is being restricted in many places.

One very important policy change that can be done this election year is to bring to the frontline the following idea:
