About
Domestic terrorism is terrorism used by citizens within their own country. Possibly the most famous recent example in the United States is the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
Propaganda
Governments who want to convince people that a certain act is really bad, especially if no obvious harm can be demonstrated (as in victimless crime), will often label the act as domestic terrorism. Examples include:
- the Liberty Dollar trial
- the entire "War on Drugs" is couched as a fight against the supposedly-terroristic act of manufacturing, selling, and even buying of psychoactive drugs
