About

Rage farming is a powermongery technique in which supposed facts are presented that are designed to outrage anyone who would be angered by the "fact" if it were true and is sufficiently credulous that they won't check it against other sources. The facts may be true but taken out of context, or they may be completely made-up.

  • Example: "Biden is sending gas overseas -- how can he do that when we need it here because prices are so high!"
    • Reality: Biden allowed producers to send crude oil (not gasoline) overseas to be refined, to alleviate the overload currently being experienced by domestic refiners. (Gas prices did indeed begin to fall after this action, though it's not clear whether there was any causality.)
