Abortion bans remain in effect in many parts of the world, despite growing support for "pro-choice" policies. The Supreme Court's recent removal of abortion as a federally-protected right in the US has resulted in many states immediately reverting to pre-existing bans, while others are imposing new bans now that they are allowed to do so.
