About

A narrative is a story which attempts to explain real-world events by framing a set of facts in a way that leads to a particular moral interpretation. A narrative will typically advance a theory involving cause-and-effect and/or motivation.

We rely on narratives in order to make moral decisions and judgements. Unfortunately, it is very easy to construct false narratives, including narratives that are more emotionally compelling than theories which fit the facts better.
