Racism in the United States tends to be primarily "white" or "caucasian" discrimination against "black" or "African-American""people, although there is also considerable discrimination against Latinos as well (see US/immigration).
Since the 9/11 attacks, a great deal of negative sentiment has been expressed against the overwhelmingly peaceful Muslim population in the US, as well as anyone who looks like they could be Muslim. Although Islam is not actually a race, these sentiments seem to arise from much the same roots as racial discrimination in general.
