Ali is currently a fellow at the neoconservative American Enterprise Institute.

She has advocated for the closing of all Muslim schools in the US, in blatant violation of Constitutional rights: "All Muslim schools. Close them down. Yeah, that sounds absolutist. I think 10 years ago things were different, but now the jihadi genie is out of the bottle." – an argument which plays off of the popular right-wing trope that Islamic fundamentalism is far more of a danger to the US than Christian fundamentalism, when the truth is the reverse.
